What is Tarotoo?
Tarotoo is an interactive platform for free online tarot readings powered by AI and grounded in the Rider–Waite–Smith tradition. You choose cards online and receive a written interpretation based on your question, the selected spread, card positions, structured card meanings, and symbolic relationships.
Tarotoo is designed for entertainment, self-reflection, spiritual exploration, and personal insight. It does not claim to predict the future with certainty or reveal objective truths.
What makes Tarotoo different from other tarot reading websites?
Tarotoo combines interactive card selection, animated tarot cards, structured Rider–Waite–Smith meanings, session-specific AI interpretations, multiple languages, and public documentation of its dataset and reading methodology.
The website is free to use, requires no registration, and its reading methodology, prompts, symbolic framework, tone, and safety approach were developed in collaboration with and reviewed by a professional tarot reader.
Who reviewed Tarotoo’s tarot reading process?
Tarotoo’s reading methodology, symbolic framework, prompts, AI logic, spread structures, tone, and safety approach were developed in collaboration with and reviewed by Inbaal Honigman, a professional tarot reader, psychic, and astrologer with more than 25 years of experience.
What can I use Tarotoo for?
People use Tarotoo for self-reflection, journaling, mindfulness, exploring emotions, considering relationship dynamics, thinking through decisions, spiritual curiosity, or entertainment.
Tarotoo is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, mental health, or other professional advice.

How Tarotoo Readings Work
How are Tarotoo readings created?
When you request a reading, Tarotoo matches your selected cards to their corresponding records in its structured tarot dataset. The relevant card meanings are combined with your question, selected spread, card positions, symbolic relationships, and Tarotoo’s interpretation instructions in a structured input.
An AI language model provided through OpenAI’s API then uses this information to generate the written interpretation. The API connection is encrypted.
For a detailed explanation, learn how our tarot readings work.
Are Tarotoo readings prewritten?
No. Tarotoo does not simply display the same fixed reading for every card. Structured tarot meanings provide the symbolic foundation, while the written interpretation is generated for the current session using your question, selected spread, chosen cards, card positions, and relationships between the cards.
Who chooses my tarot cards?
During Tarotoo’s interactive readings, you choose the cards yourself from a digitally randomized deck. The AI does not choose cards based on your question or personal information.
After you make your selection, the AI receives information about the chosen cards, their positions, and their relevant meanings and then generates the interpretation. It does not measure your intuition, read your thoughts, or influence which cards you choose.
How are tarot cards shuffled on Tarotoo?
Before each reading, Tarotoo digitally randomizes the order of the available cards. This serves the same practical purpose as shuffling a physical deck, so the cards do not remain in a fixed order between readings.
The AI does not control the shuffle or determine which cards appear in particular positions.
Does Tarotoo interpret combinations of tarot cards?
Yes. Tarotoo considers more than the meaning of each card on its own. Depending on the reading, the interpretation may consider card positions, relationships between cards, repeating themes, contrasts, supporting symbols, and the overall structure of the selected spread.
Are individual Tarotoo readings reviewed by a human?
No. Individual readings are generated automatically and are not manually written, approved, or reviewed by a tarot reader or another person before they are displayed.
Expert review applies to Tarotoo’s overall reading methodology, symbolic framework, prompts, AI logic, spread structures, tone, and safety approach.
How is Tarotoo’s reading methodology reviewed and updated?
Tarotoo may review and update its reading framework when AI models change, prompts or interpretation logic are revised, tarot spreads are added or modified, safety requirements change, expert feedback is received, users report safety concerns, or new features are introduced.
Significant updates may also be reviewed for symbolic consistency, relevance, clarity, tone, and safety.
Why can repeated readings for the same question be different?
Different card selections, spread positions, question wording, session context, and AI-generated wording can produce different interpretations, even when the general topic is similar.
You can repeat a question, but doing so many times within a short period may create confusion. It is usually more helpful to reflect on the first reading and return later or ask a clearer question if your situation changes.
Using Tarotoo and Asking Questions
How do I start a tarot reading?
Choose a tarot spread, enter your question where the selected reading asks for one, and pick your cards during the interactive reading experience. Tarotoo then uses your question, selected spread, chosen cards, and their positions as context for the interpretation.
You may choose cards intuitively, but Tarotoo does not measure or evaluate your intuition.
Do I need tarot experience to use Tarotoo?
No. Tarotoo is designed for both beginners and experienced tarot readers. You do not need prior knowledge of tarot cards or symbolism to use the platform.
How can I ask better tarot questions?
Clear and specific questions usually provide more useful context for the interpretation. Instead of asking an overly broad question, focus on a particular situation, emotion, relationship, choice, or area you want to consider.
Open-ended questions focused on your own perspective and possible actions are generally more suitable than questions that ask Tarotoo to reveal hidden facts or guarantee an outcome.
What should I do if my reading does not make sense?
Read the interpretation again while considering each card, its position in the spread, and the specific question you asked. Some parts may be more useful when viewed as themes or possibilities rather than literal statements.
You do not need to force a reading to fit your situation. AI-generated readings may sometimes be unclear, overly general, inaccurate, or not personally relevant. Consider returning later with a clearer or more specific question.
Can I ask tarot questions about another person?
Yes, but it is better to frame the question around your own perspective, choices, boundaries, or relationship with that person.
For example, instead of asking what another person is secretly thinking, you could ask what you should understand about the relationship or how you can approach the situation more clearly. Tarotoo cannot access another person’s private information, read their thoughts, track their actions, or verify their feelings or intentions.
Can I change my question or selected cards after starting a reading?
Once your cards have been selected and the reading has been generated, you cannot edit that completed reading. To use a different question or choose different cards, start a new reading.
Tarot Cards, Spreads, and Daily Tarot
How does Daily Tarot personalize my reading?
Daily Tarot combines tarot symbolism with the name and birthday you provide, your zodiac sign, numerological context, and the current date to generate a personalized daily interpretation.
This information provides context for the reading. It does not allow Tarotoo to discover private facts about you or predict future events with certainty.
For information about how submitted data is processed, read our Privacy Policy.
What tarot deck does Tarotoo use?
Tarotoo follows the Rider–Waite–Smith tradition for its tarot symbolism and card meanings, one of the most widely recognized and influential tarot systems.
What tarot spreads does Tarotoo offer?
Tarotoo offers several spreads for different questions and types of reflection, including One Card, Yes or No, Past–Present–Future, Situation–Obstacle–Solution, SWOT, a general five-card spread, a love five-card spread, and the Celtic Cross.
Tarotoo also offers Daily Tarot, which combines tarot with astrological and numerological context. Additional spreads are available in the separate mobile app.
Do Tarotoo website readings use all 78 tarot cards?
Tarotoo’s website reading features currently use the 22 upright Major Arcana cards.
Tarotoo’s public dataset and interactive card meanings guide cover the complete 78-card Rider–Waite–Smith deck, including the Major and Minor Arcana. The complete 78-card deck and reversed cards are also available in the Tarotoo mobile app.
Accuracy, Predictions, and Limitations
Are Tarotoo tarot readings accurate?
Tarot readings are symbolic and subjective and should be viewed as a reflective and interpretive experience rather than objective truth.
Many users find tarot insightful or thought-provoking, but an AI-generated reading may also be inaccurate, incomplete, overly general, or unsuitable for your circumstances. You remain responsible for evaluating the content and making your own decisions.
Can tarot cards predict the future?
No. Tarot should not be viewed as a guaranteed prediction of future events. Outcomes can change based on your actions, decisions, and circumstances.
Tarot is best used as a tool for self-reflection, perspective, and personal exploration rather than certainty about what will happen.
Are there any limitations to Tarotoo tarot readings?
Tarotoo readings are intended for entertainment, self-reflection, personal exploration, and spiritual curiosity. They should not be treated as factual statements, guaranteed outcomes, supernatural guidance, or predictions of future events.
Tarotoo does not provide medical, legal, financial, psychological, psychiatric, mental health, or other professional advice. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, outdated, generalized, misleading, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
Safety and Wellbeing
Can I use Tarotoo during an emergency?
No. Tarotoo is not an emergency, crisis, medical, mental health, or personal safety service.
If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriately qualified professional. Do not delay seeking help because of a tarot reading or AI-generated response.

What should I do if a reading makes me feel worried or distressed?
Remember that tarot readings are interpretive and are not guaranteed predictions of what will happen. You do not need to accept or act on any part of a reading that feels unhelpful, upsetting, or inappropriate.
Consider stepping away, focusing on your immediate surroundings, and discussing your concerns with someone you trust. For medical, mental health, legal, financial, or personal safety concerns, seek help from an appropriately qualified professional.

Avoid including unnecessary sensitive or confidential information in your report.
Privacy and Data
How does Tarotoo protect my privacy?
Tarotoo uses encrypted connections to transmit information needed to generate readings and responses. No account is required to use the website, and Tarotoo does not provide server-based website reading history.
Information submitted for AI-generated features is transmitted to OpenAI for real-time processing. OpenAI may retain API data for a limited period for security, policy enforcement, and abuse monitoring in accordance with its data-retention policies.
In the mobile app, reading history is stored locally on your device and is deleted when you remove the app.
For more information, read our Privacy Policy and learn how our tarot readings work.
Are my questions or other submitted information used to train AI models?
No. Tarotoo does not use the questions or other information you submit to train its own AI systems.
Information you submit is transmitted to OpenAI for real-time processing. OpenAI does not use API inputs and outputs to train its models by default, and Tarotoo keeps optional API data sharing disabled.
OpenAI may retain API data for a limited period for security, policy enforcement, and abuse monitoring in accordance with its data-retention policies. For more information, read our Privacy Policy.
Can Tarotoo access private information about me or another person?
No. Tarotoo cannot read minds, access hidden information, view private accounts, track another person, or independently verify someone’s thoughts, feelings, actions, or intentions.
The AI generates responses using the information you provide, Tarotoo’s structured tarot data where relevant, and its interpretation or conversational instructions.
Can I request deletion of my personal information?
Tarotoo does not store completed website tarot reading history in a personal account. Because of this, we generally cannot locate or retrieve a particular website reading after your session has ended.
In the mobile app, reading history is stored locally on your device. You can remove locally stored history within the app where this option is available, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
If Tarotoo holds other personal information about you, contact [email protected] to request access to or deletion of that information, subject to applicable law and permitted exceptions.
For more information, read our Privacy Policy.
Open Data and Developer Resources
Does Tarotoo provide open tarot data?
Yes. Tarotoo publishes a structured open dataset covering all 78 Rider–Waite–Smith tarot cards across 18 fields, including upright and reversed meanings, keywords, thematic interpretations, astrological associations, and yes/no values.
The dataset can be downloaded, cited, reused in research, integrated into applications, and used in AI and developer workflows under the MIT License. It is published through GitHub, Hugging Face, Kaggle, and Zenodo.
You can browse all 78 card meanings in an interactive, reader-friendly format or visit Open Data & Developer Resources for the dataset, methodology, documentation, packages, MCP server, and integrations.
How does the dataset support Tarotoo’s AI readings?
For each structured tarot reading, Tarotoo matches the selected cards to their corresponding dataset records through a direct lookup. Relevant meanings are then included with the user’s question, selected spread, card positions, symbolic relationships, and interpretation instructions in the structured input provided to the AI language model.
The dataset supplies the symbolic foundation, while the complete written interpretation is generated for the individual session. Because the dataset contains a fixed collection of 78 card records, this process does not require embeddings or vector search.
Does the open dataset contain users’ questions or readings?
No. The public dataset contains structured tarot card meanings and symbolic associations. It does not contain users’ questions, personal information, reading history, or AI-generated responses.
What developer tools does Tarotoo provide?
Tarotoo provides JavaScript and Python packages for working with its structured tarot data, along with an MCP server that allows compatible AI assistants, development environments, and other Model Context Protocol clients to access tarot card meanings.
Dataset formats, methodology, documentation, installation instructions, and integrations are available on our Open Data & Developer Resources page.
Psychic Chat
How does Psychic Chat work?
Psychic Chat is a separate AI-powered conversational feature focused on tarot, astrology, numerology, spirituality, self-discovery, and personal reflection.
It uses the messages you submit, relevant conversational context, and Tarotoo’s instructions to generate responses through an AI language model provided by OpenAI’s API. The feature was developed in collaboration with and reviewed by Inbaal Honigman.
You can learn more on the Psychic Chat page.
Is Psychic Chat a live psychic?
No. Psychic Chat is an AI-generated conversational experience, not a live psychic or human advisor. It does not possess consciousness, emotions, psychic abilities, supernatural knowledge, or access to hidden information, and it cannot predict future events with certainty.
How is Psychic Chat different from a tarot reading?
Structured tarot readings use selected cards, spread positions, retrieved card meanings, and a defined reading format. Psychic Chat is a separate conversational feature and does not rely on selected cards, spread positions, or a fixed reading structure.
Both features use AI technology provided through OpenAI’s API, but the information and instructions used to generate their responses are different.
