The study also analyzed how often people go online looking for haunted places, ghost stories, and other spooky experiences in these places. Each city was then given a score based on both its real-life frights and online interest.

Thirteen ghost tours take people through these haunted spots where strange things keep happening. Residents here are quite curious about the paranormal, researching them online over 130K times a month. Chicagoans actually show the most interest in ghost stories compared to any other city in the country.
San Antonio comes in third place with spirits seemingly everywhere.
